We are deeply saddened to hear the announcement from Buckingham Palace of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen at Balmoral this afternoon. Our thoughts and condolences are with all the members of the Royal Family at this sad time.

The flag at the Memorial Garden has been lowered as a mark of respect. The flag will fly at full mast from 10.30am on Saturday 10th September when the Proclamation is made on at St James’ Palace, and will be lowered again at 1.00pm on Sunday 11th September.
A book of condolence has been opened at Bramhope Village Hall on Friday 9th September and will remain available until Tuesday 20th September. The Village Hall will be open during the day throughout this period. In addition, there will be a book of condolence at St Giles Church. The Church will be open from 12 noon on both Friday 9th and Saturday 10th September. Alternatively an online book of condolence is available for signing at: www.royal.uk for those who wish to pay their respects.
Members of the public are welcome to lay flowers at the Memorial Garden.
A reading of the Proclamation will take place at the Memorial Garden on Breary Lane on Sunday 11th September at 2.30pm. All are welcome to attend.
St Giles Church will be holding Evening Prayers on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th September at 5.00pm. Sunday Services will take place at the usual times of 9.30am and 11.00am.
Meetings of the Parish Council due to take place during the period of mourning have been postponed as a mark of respect.
