Throughout 2022, Leeds City Council has been developing the citywide strategy in partnership with individuals and representatives from across the food system as well as the third sector, academia, business and public sector.
The strategy sets out how we intend to tackle three important missions for our city:
- Health and wellbeing: Helping people to eat a safe, healthy, and balanced diet to improve health and wellbeing
- Food security and economy: Working to promote a diverse, inclusive, and vibrant local food economy
- Sustainability and resilience: Ensuring Leeds’ food system is fit for the future and supports our climate action plan.
We would now like to engage the wider public and other stakeholders to help us develop and finalise the strategy.
The draft Leeds Food Strategy is open for consultation until Sunday 18th December.
Should you wish to contribute towards the consultation you can use the link provided below. Similarly, if you wish to promote the consultation within your local community, please distribute the link. We are keen to hear from as many voices as possible. Every response will be considered and will help improve our future approach to addressing these vital issues.
