There have been reports of off road bikes (of various kinds) causing concern and being linked to suspicious activity/crime including offroad bikes, e-scooters, e-bikes etc in the Adel and Wharfedale area.

It’s really important that first hand evidence is shared directly with the Police.
In return the Local Police Inspector will be doing the following:
Arrange for a target hardening officer to attend at our key locations to look at prevention Off Road bike access (with the council)
Improve / upskill knowledge of officers around Off Road Bike Offences
Circulate information via media streams re off road bike usage and the penalties
Work with LASBT re persons found or linked to off road bike usage and understand available options civilly
Work with District Crime Team re theft of bikes / robberies to ensure all available options are considered re investigation
Work with JEMLOCK team re any reports of knives / machetes in the area
Work with contact centre re making members of public who are reporting incidents re off road bikes feel valued and heard, rather than dismissed
Utilised Ward Manager around traffic based / problem solving deployment regarding off road bikes in the area
Collaborate with West NPT and Bradford NPT/ Bradford Op STEERSIDE / Leeds Off Road Bike Team regarding a joint operation across the boundaries of the force area to increase visibility and information sharing
