Leeds City Council have provided notification of an unplanned road closure this evening (9th March) following essential urgent works we are currently undertaking on Eccup Lane, Alwoodley, between Adel bridge and the five lanes junction with King Lane. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond LCC control, it is not safe to open the road to road-users. This means the road closure will remain in place overnight and during both tonight’s PM peak and tomorrow’s (10/03/2026) AM peak. All being well we plan to reopen the road at 15:30 tomorrow.(10/03/2026)
There will be no access along this stretch of Eccup Lane. LCC will be speaking to residents at Adel Bridge and informing them that access to their properties is from Church Lane only.
The diversion will be signed via King Lane – Arthington Road – Kings Road – Leeds Road, Bramhope – Otley Road, Adel – Church Lane and vice versa.
