(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC & WAITING) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council as traffic authority for the Leeds Metropolitan District, has today made an Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, prohibiting the use of certain roads by vehicles to facilitate the holding of the Chevin Chase Running Race on Friday 26 December 2025.
The event will require the closure of roads and road junctions and the prohibition of waiting in Otley Town Centre. The road closures and waiting restrictions will come into effect on Friday 26 December 2025.
The effect of the Order is that:
No person shall cause any vehicle to proceed on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 (whilst the road closures are in place) or cause any vehicle to wait on any length of road specified in Schedule 2 hereto on Friday 26 December 2025 during the hours stated PROVIDED THAT such prohibitions shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the relevant event.
Where necessary, local diversions will be in operation signed as appropriate. Emergency access will be maintained for the Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance purposes and for organisations responsible for dealing with the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, water or electronic communications, to premises in the area and for the removal of any obstruction to traffic. Access for pedestrians will be maintained to all premises situated on or adjacent to any road or part of road to be closed or to which restrictions apply including other premises accessible for pedestrians from and only from such a road.
