Repointing works to the Puritan chapel
Following a structural report on the Puritan Chapel and a recommendation to removed the existing cement pointing and replace with a traditional lime mortar mix in order to preserve the stone of the chapel, the Parish Council arranged for the works to be undertaken on the chapel.
The works were completed in 2020 and will help to preserve this historic Grade 1 listed building for the enjoyment of future generations.
Thanks go to Leeds City Council and our Ward Councillors, Cllr Billy Flynn, Cllr Barry Anderson and Cllr Caroline Anderson who have match funded 50% of the cost of the works via a grant from the Outer North West Committee, with the Parish Council using some of its capital reserve funds and CIL monies for the remainder of the cost.
The Chapel is normally open to the public on one Sunday afternoon in September to coincide with Leeds Heritage Open Days. If you would like to visit the chapel on another date please contact the clerk to arrange a visit. clerk@bramhopecarlton-pc.gov.uk
We look forward to welcoming visitors and sharing some of the history of the chapel with you.
It is also possible to hire the Chapel for Blessings, Christenings and Funerals – please contact the Clerk to the Parish Council for further details.
